In line with the special directives of Chief Minister Punjab, to ensure that the sacred days of Muharram-ul-Haram are observed in an atmosphere of peace, harmony, and inter-sect unity, Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, formally dispatched three high-level Interfaith Harmony (IBM) “Peace Delegations” from Jamia Khatam-un-Nabiyyin (Quran Board).The farewell ceremony was attended by Director General Religious Affairs Hafiz Anees-ur-Rehman, Additional Secretary Auqaf Madam Nabeela Javed, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ejaz, Additional Secretary Home Department Mr.Abdul Rauf, Home Department representative Dr. Ahmad Khawar Shahzad, and Director Administration Auqaf Punjab Mr.Shakir Sindhu. The delegations were led by prominent religious scholars: Group One by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, Group Two by Maulana Mukhtar Ahmad Nadeem, and Group Three by Dr. Mufti Intikhab Ahmad Noori. During their visits, the delegations worked closely with Divisional Commissioners, Regional Police Officers (RPOs), Deputy Commissioners (DCs), and District Police Officers (DPOs). They also met members of District Peace Committees and approximately 200 local religious scholars across various districts, listened to their concerns, and facilitated the resolution of issues on the spot.
