Secretary Auqaf Dr. Ehsan Bhutta inaugurated the Waris Shah Heritage and Cultural Gallery, newly established by the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department at Jandiala Sher Khan. Deputy Commissioner Rana Adil Tasawwur, Director Projects Mr.Rafiq Noor Wattoo, Zonal Administrator Rana Ehsan, and other officers of the Auqaf Department were also present on the occasion.The gallery presents the life, personality, intellectual contributions, literary services, and various aspects of the celebrated masterpiece Heer by Hazrat Waris Shah (RA) in a modern and engaging manner for visitors, tourists, students, and researchers.Important characters from Heer Waris Shah, historical and cultural scenes, rare artifacts, and traditional objects have also been made part of the gallery. An LCD display has been installed to screen a special documentary highlighting the life and contributions of Hazrat Waris Shah (RA), as well as the history and culture of Sheikhupura.The gallery also features traditional objects such as a tawa (griddle), ghara (earthen water pot), weighing scale, bow, and other cultural artifacts, reflecting the ancient social life, traditions, culture, and lifestyle of Punjab.
