Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, while chairing a meeting regarding the launch and performance of the Digital Monitoring System at the Awan-e-Auqaf Lahore, said that a state-of-the-art digital monitoring system has been made operational to further strengthen security at major shrines across Punjab and to ensure the provision of safe, dignified, and improved facilities to devotees. Secretary Auqaf said that, through the Command-and-Control Room established at Awan-e-Auqaf Lahore, the shrines are being monitored round the clock with the help of modern technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). On the occasion, Additional Secretary Auqaf Madam Nabila Javed, Director General Religious Affairs Auqaf Punjab Hafiz Anis ur Rehman, and other directors of the Auqaf Department were also present. CAA stated that, in the first phase, 10 out of 16 designated model shrines have been connected to the Digital Monitoring System, including the historic Badshahi Mosque. In addition, four shrines in Lahore and four shrines in Multan are being directly monitored under the system. He further stated that the shrine of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah (RA) in Kasur had already been connected to the Command-and-Control Room, and the system was successfully utilized in practice during the recent three-day annual Urs celebrations.
