Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr. Ehsan Bhutta visited Jamia Masjid Kameer in Sahiwal and also met with the Deputy Commissioner in Pakpattan. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the establishment of a Quran Mahal at the district level and the system for the preservation and recycling of sacred Quranic pages. Later, the Secretary Auqaf Punjab visited the Picture Gallery of the Shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shakar (RA), where he reviewed historical and pictorial material relating to the life and teachings of Baba Farid (RA) and also recorded his impressions in the visitors’ comments book. He also inspected the Auqaf Department’s dispensary and directed the concerned doctors and staff to ensure the provision of the best possible medical facilities to pilgrims and visitors. The Secretary Auqaf further directed that a short video documentary highlighting the life and teachings of Baba Farid (RA) be prepared and displayed for visitors through an LCD screen. He also instructed that appropriate seating arrangements be made for visitors viewing the documentary. He also paid his respects at the shrines of Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masood Ganj Shakar (RA) and Hazrat Baba Syed Muhammad Panah (RA), offered Fateha, and prayed for the security, progress and prosperity of the country as well as for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah. Other officers of the Auqaf Department also accompanied him during the visit.
